How do I make an appointment?
The practice offers both face to face and telephone consultations. Routine appointments may be made by telephoning 01443 875131 or by calling at the surgery during opening hours or by accessing the NHS Wales app. Routine appointments with GP may be made in advance (maximum four weeks); this enables us to offer you an appointment at a time suitable for your requirements.
Minor Illness appointments – These appointments are with our clinical pharmacist or Minor Illness Nurse who have undergone specialist training in order to be able to provide this service. Minor illness clinic appointments are for acute conditions, common ailments and management of long term illnesses. These appointments are available as face to face consultations or telephone consultations.
The Practice also offers “same day appointments”. These are for patients who require an appointment that day because of a medical problem that is not able to wait for the next routine appointment, depending on the nature of the problem an appointment or telephone consultation will be offered with one of our GP’s, Nurses or our Clinical Pharmacist. These appointments are offered as face to face or telephone consultation depending on the nature of the problem.
Should you be listed for a telephone consultation, the GP, Clinical Pharmacist or Minor Illness Nurse will ring you and assess (triage) the urgency of your condition and / or may ask the receptionist to contact you on their behalf to gather more information from you regarding your symptoms and to either invite you to attend surgery in person or to book you in for an appropriate time slot. To help triage the call appropriately, the doctors have instructed all practice receptionists to take and record as much clinical detail from patient’s as possible to enable the doctor’s triage to be prioritised effectively.
If you cannot keep an appointment, please inform us as soon as possible as this will assist in over-subscribed situations.
When booking routine appointments patients can request to see a preferred doctor by stating their preference during their call or on booking an appointment at reception. All routine surgery consultations are by appointment only.
